TAX ADVISORY & PREPARATION

My name is Chris Langan, and I am a tax nerd. I’ve spent over 15 years working as a freelancer in the TV/Film industry. Once I realized I was not a traditional employee but rather a self-employed professional, I became obsessive about learning everything I could to optimize my tax situation.

In recent years, I began to recognize an unmet need. Freelancers and self-employed individuals were largely underserved when it came to personalized, practical tax guidance. Many were left to navigate complex accounting and filing processes on their own — often missing out on legitimate tax advantages as a result.

In early 2025, I became credentialed and began offering tax preparation services to fellow freelancers. Beyond filing federal and state returns, my goal was to work closely with clients to tackle the core fundamentals of income, expenses, and tax as they relate to this unique group of earners. My approach and process resonated with those I had the privilege of working with. When my clients found the experience rewarding, so did I.

Building on that momentum, I spent the remainder of 2025 completing over 80 hours of Continuing Professional Education in tax advisory and preparation. After sitting for the exam in late 2025, I proudly earned the Accredited Tax Preparer (ATP) designation through the Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Tax. I am also a registered New York State Commercial Tax Preparer and have completed both the H&R Block Income Tax Course and the IRS Annual Filing Season Program, which grants me expanded client representation rights before the IRS.

Today, I serve clients throughout the country, with a concentration on New York City and the surrounding areas. Alongside meticulous devotion to accuracy and compliance, my priority is delivering a personalized, concierge-level client experience — not only at tax time, but year-round. My objective remains singular: to educate and empower my clients to simplify their accounting and optimize their tax.
